I was born in New Orleans, LA., to proud parents, Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Daniel and Janice Holmes. I came into the world on November 27, 1978. Though I would return to New Orleans for High School years later, my initial stint in the Big Easy was cut short by the divorce of my parents. A good deal of my formative years were spent in Los Angeles, San Diego and Pomona, CA. A sister to two brothers, Jeffey and Jason, we spent our summers in NY with our grandmother.  She would become the most influential person in my life.

From the Big Easy to the Big Apple, I've spent a lot time on the music scene. Singing in choirs at an early age, and always being involved with church, school and community choirs , it seemed almost inevitable that I would wind up marrying a musician. After coming back to NY to attend College, I was invited to visit a local church by a fellow choir member.  After my first visit to Tabernacle of Praise, in Bronx, NY- I was hooked. I stayed there and became part of the music ministry. It was there, in 2001, that I met my husband, PJ Morgan. He'd  come to the church as a guest musician for a conference.  God knew exactly what he was doing!

Married in 2003, we embraced a second child, K'lah, shortly thereafter. I already had a daughter, Britni, from a previous relationship. Having developed a profound love of travel from my grandmother, I traveled to Italy in the winter of 1999 to study. It was then that the seeds of becoming a published author were sown. But it wouldn't be until I married PJ some 4 years later that a subject worth writing about would start to form in my heart.

Traveling often as a family, I found myself drawn to women who shared my experiences in ministry life as a wives and mothers. It would be  these conversations that would become the substance that make up Half Minister/Half Mistress- the Life of a Ministry Wife. Deeply saddened by the overwhelming amount of couples that were breaking up over what I deemed to be "small stuff", I changed the direction of Half and Half (the nickname for my 1st book) from a diary of personal experiences, to a kind of "how-to" for killing the small foxes that spoil the marriage vine.

My stance is that divorce is never an option and Half Minister/Half Mistress- the Life of a Ministry Wife seeks to deal the death-blow to divorce that families on both sides of the ministry spectrum so desperately need. Though I speak as a ministry wife because I am one,  the message in this book is for everyone. Whether you are a Christian,  Muslim, rock star, military wife, flight attendant or whatever- this book has a message for you!

I'm working on a fiction novel that will be released in the 2009. Concurrently, I am working with my husband/producer, PJ Morgan, (the link to his myspace page) on a gospel CD project. This album has been a lifelong dream of mine and I'm very grateful and excited to be working on such an important piece with someone so capable, and dear to my heart.
